About This Site

Team Sports Pet Apparel covers licensed fan gear for dogs: pet jerseys, team collars, leashes, bandanas and dog T-shirts. Every piece is worn on game days and neighborhood walks, washed through a season, and judged on three things: does it fit a real dog's body, does it hold up, and will the dog actually tolerate wearing it.

Pet Apparel Safety

Fan gear is clothing, and clothing on a dog needs supervision. Never leave a dog alone, crated or sleeping while wearing a jersey, shirt or bandana. Fabric can snag on crate wire, furniture or fencing, and a dog that chews a loose hem or tie can swallow pieces of it. If your dog swallows fabric or shows vomiting, gagging or a swollen belly, call your veterinarian right away.

Check fit every time. You should be able to slide two fingers under a collar, a shirt or a jersey at the neck and chest. Gear that is too tight can rub the armpits raw or restrict breathing; gear that is too loose can catch a leg. Short-nosed and broad-chested breeds, and any dog in warm weather, can overheat in a shirt or jersey, so take it off on hot days and watch for heavy panting. A team collar or leash is only as safe as its hardware: inspect buckles, D-rings and clips for wear before every walk, and keep a properly fitted ID tag on your dog.
